About the role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead QA to join our Workflow project. As a Lead QA, you will line manage 4 QA Engineers in London and shape QA processes in collaboration with the QA Manager. You will also be working within one of our Scrum Teams, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products by covering functional and non-functional requirements during testing.
What you’ll do
- Line-manage a team of QA Engineers by providing mentorship, technical guidance, and career development opportunities to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing, cross functional collaboration, and high-performance.
- Analyse existing QA processes and methodologies and identify potential risks and challenges at all stages of the SDLC. Implement innovative solutions to improve quality and optimize testing efficiency.
- Provide feedback and guidance to development teams on defect prevention and quality improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with the SDETs to develop and maintain automated test suites, select appropriate testing tools, and integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Make data-driven decisions. Define and track key quality metrics to measure quality of the software, the effectiveness of our testing and development processes.
- Develop, implement, and perform comprehensive test plans and strategies that cover both functional and non-functional aspects of software, focusing on automated testing for scalability and efficiency.
- Drive testing activities for your team’s projects, which would include backend and front-end testing.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert on the product.
- Communicate testing progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders, ensuring transparency an alignment with business goals.
- Continually improve knowledge of functionality, testing techniques and tools.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated experience in line-managing QA team members.
- Inclusive leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members and foster collaboration.
- Enjoys fostering a high performance and collaborative culture, with a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
- Experience with testing infrastructure, backend services, APIs, and DB.
- Experience with testing desktop, web, and mobile applications.
- Experience with testing applications hosted in Cloud (e.g., Azure).
- Experience with working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience in using Automated Testing tools and frameworks.
- At least a basic understanding of one of the OOP languages like C# due to the technical nature of the role.
- Strong experience in working with complex requirements and systems.
- Strong experience with executing functional testing and non-functional testing.
- Experience with performance and security testing would be beneficial.
• Experience with creating and implementing test strategies and plans. - A good understanding of QA metrics and their purpose. Ability to identify actions to improve metrics.
- Ability to identify dependencies and risks at all stages of the SDLC.
- Ability to identify methods to improve test processes and to drive implementation of the changes.
- Good knowledge of agile frameworks including SCRUM and Kanban
