About the role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior QA Engineer to join BigHand. In the first 6 months you will be working with one of our feature teams helping to deliver new features for our product. After this you will be permanently allocated to our Scrum Teams that is focused on the resolving support issues.
As a Senior QA Engineer you will play a crucial role in executing maintenance activities for one of our .NET applications and will work with other team members to diagnose and resolve complex application issues. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of testing methodologies are essential for
success in this role.
What you’ll do
- Become a key member of the development team by validating patches and hotfixes.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert on the product.
- Participate in various meetings such as daily standups, sprint planning, refinement, retrospective, and root cause analysis and contribute to the team’s decisions.
- Use Test design techniques to create comprehensive test cases for complex issues and to identify regression areas to cover. Collaborate with Product owners, developers, and Manual QAs to achieve the best test coverage.
- Collaborate with QAs from other teams to drive changes in the testing process to ensure the same support issues do not appear in the new releases.
- Perform all types of manual testing: Functional and Non-functional, against desktop apps, websites, REST APIs and backend services.
- Own environments deployment for the test execution.
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Mentor and support less experienced QA team members on the product and the best testing practices.
- Communicate updates and escalations proactively and in a timely manner to your team and appropriate stakeholders.
- Continually improve knowledge of functionality and testing techniques.
